Died, circa 1627 (??) in Plymouth ,MA. He married an unknown woman.
"George Morton is the brother of Thomas Morton of Merry Mount, and the
famous May Pole dancing. Thomas Morton sold booze to the Indians and carried on
about the Maypole until the settlers complained and it caused alarm throughout
the settlement, even in Plymouth. Finally Myles Standish walked to Merry Mount
(Waliston in Quincy) and put Thomas Morton on a ship to England. That settled
that. But he was to return to cause more mischief in Maine. He was a very
learned man & wrote books and (sic) the Colony that sold in England. But in
old age, they said, he had "windmills in his head." (From Louise G.
