The Dunham Public Library
is primarily funded by a property tax collected from the residents
of the Whitesboro Central School District. This income is supplemented
by contracts with other agencies, grants and private contributions.
While tax support is essential, it seems there is always something
we need that we cannot afford or services we would like to provide.
Gifts from individuals are always welcome and much appreciated.
We have made this page a
part of our website to encourage donations and to give people
the opportunity to invest in their library. Every gift, regardless
of size, will be used to enhance library services.
Items we presently need
in the library include the following:
Adopt a magazine
Typewriter for public
use
Archival supplies
for Local History
Bequest in your Will
Many people have included
the library in their wills. Bequests have enabled us to do many
things we would not have been able to do otherwise. If you have
enjoyed the library for years why not include us in your will?
Here are a few suggestions:
1) Decide on the amount
you wish to give to the library.
2) Contact your attorney
to advise him or her of your wishes.
3) Direct that your will
include a bequest to the library in the amount you designate.
Some people have put their
money in a trust. During their lives they receive the earnings
from the investment. After their passing, the library can either
receive the principal of the trust at one time or the library
could receive the earnings from the investment. Discuss these
options with your attorney or financial advisor.
Other ways to give to
the library?
1) Make a monetary gift
to the library.
2) Encourage elected officials
to support library funding.
3) Tell a friend about the
library's web site.
4) Make a gift in memory
of a loved one.
5) Designate the library
as a memorial recipient.
6) Give books to the library
for book sales.
Those interested in sending
a monetary gift to the library may do so by simply mailing a check
